Dr. Richard Nichols is a general dentist specializing in the treatment of occlusion and TMJ Disorder problems. A graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center college of Dentistry. He has been in private practice for 20 years. Dr Nichols has had his own practice in Bailey, Colorado for 17 years and has a second practice in Littleton, Colorado.
After working with an increasing number of patients with obvious TMJ issues, Dr Nichols became increasingly interested in the study of temporomandibular disorders. He actively sought training by the top TMJ doctors in the country to better understand the disease. Through extensive immersion in the field of TMJ Disorders, Dr Nichols’ patients receive a complete diagnosis and treatment.
Dr. Nichols studied advanced concepts of occlusion and TMJ disorder diagnosis and treatment under the leaders in their representative fields of dentistry. He has completed the enitre core curriculum and the final hands on course with Dawson Academy in st Petersburg, Florida. Academy founder, Dr Peter Dawson D.D.S. is considered to be the most influential clinicians in the history of dentistry. His curriculum is designed to take dentists to the highest level of expertise utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach to solving even the most complex occlusal and TMJ- related disorders.
In 2007 Dr Nichols pursued further training specifically focused on TMJ Pathology, and completed the expert level of training with Dr Mark Piper, M.D, D.M.D., who is recognized as the preeminent clinician, surgeon, and researched in the field of advanced TMJ diagnosis and Therapy.
When not doing dentistry Dr. Nichols enjoys racing cars, playing guitar and spending time with his family and friends.
